As I’ve alluded to previously, I spent too many holidays away from my friends and family. I’m here to relate that it’s not a good feeling. Yes, the Armed Forces do their level best to provide a festive meal, but try as they might, it does not remove the feeling of being in a strange place (land, sea, or air) away from those you love.
